Welcome to Rants and Raves!
I kept hearing that I needed to write, so here is the blog that I ended up starting.
It is mostly an accounting of my progression through creating a web site, nuances with code, and tips about what I did to make things work.
In there you will find sprinkled about some gems of life, and letting loose fun.
Enjoy!
Rocks And Tables
2023-03-30
There is a rest area East bound I-10 in Dragoon Arizona that has a really fun boulder arrangement that we climbed all over. It was a lot of fun, although there were a couple of areas that were more challenging than we were equipped to handle. I also dug back in to the website, DataTables some more. I did find that that the server is sending the data back to the client, but it seems it's not in quite the right format. It looks like the server is sending some kind of DataTables preamble to the data, and I think the data is formatted correct. So I'm not sure the precise issue as to why the client is rejecting the response, will look into that more later.
Driver Enrichment Ready
2023-03-29
We stopped in the Phoenix yard tonight. They had finished some upgrades to the drivers area, which include a gym, bowling lanes, and arcade. We spend some time shooting hoops, and playing a couple of arcade games. We didn't try the bowling lanes because there was someone else using them, but we had fun.
Blank Page
2023-03-28
It's surprising how often a blank "paper" becomes intimidating and stops the writing ability. Alright, it doesn't really stop anything. But there can be an inaccurate feeling of needing to write something important, notable, worthwhile... Luckily, that's not true. It might take some reminding though.
Spring Cleaning
2023-03-27
We spent most of the day doing spring cleaning in the truck, when we weren't taking care of loads. All the bedding was washed as well as the rest of the laundry. Did thorough floor cleaning including some "mopping". Wiped down surfaces and rearranged. Did some shopping, made strawberries and cream and carne asada, and even watched the last Harry Potter movie.
TAZ

We did a little bit of listening to The Adventure Zone podcast today. I forgot how much I enjoy listening to the goofs and fantasy that they spin.
One Travel Companion Down
2023-03-25
Dropped the puppers off with family today. Going to start travelling without her. It's bitter sweet. Overall I do believe she'll be happier off the truck.
Blank

Blank, but something.
Not Much
2023-03-23
Haven't been feeling like there's been much to write about. I haven't had much motivation to work on the website, or job hunt. I have played on my drum pad to some music, watched some more Harry Potter, played some FF3, and started taxes... Still hanging in there though, drove through several states, had some delays, making our way back to family so they can look over the puppers.
Poor Puppers
2023-03-19
Went to the vet today to have Nova checked out. She's been having some really bad pains in a leg that's been causing the death scream. Based on what they can tell it is likely a partially torn ACL. Unfortunately being in a truck doesn't jive with taking it easy on such things. We've been doing what we can to make getting in and out of the truck okay for her, but it looks like we are going to have to drop her off at a parental's place. It will only be for a little while as we are anticipating a temporary settle down and can take her back, but it's still hard. I don't like the feeling of abandoning her, and due to her age this is likely just the beginning of the end. It's tough to make the call for the "right time" to end it, but it'll have to be made at some point. Hopefully there are still some happy times ahead of her, and hopefully she doesn't suffer unnecessarily.
Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone
2023-03-16
We watched Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Beings how the book was decently fresh in the mind, it was interesting to notice how much of the book the movie leaves out. It's also interesting seeing how young all the characters look, even the older ones. Still it was entertaining to watch.
